I quite often do sessions to celebrate a child’s first birthday somewhere near the big day but on this occasion the gorgeous Laura wanted to have her little one’s session on the day to properly mark this important milestone. Living a stones’ throw from the River Wey in Guildford, it was the obvious choice on a surprisingly warm February day last week. Down by Millmead Lock it felt, for the first time this year, that Spring might just be around the corner, the park benches were full, people taking a stroll in their lunch breaks, it was sight for sore eyes at that time of year when we crave sunlight after months of short, dark days.

Our birthday boy, despite suffering with the tail end of a horrid cold, did amazingly, just look at that wonderful head of hair and the cutest braces ever! As with all young children tiredness is never very far away but dad was on hand with some bubbles to keep him engaged a little longer.  Such a gorgeous family, I feel privileged to have met them. x
