In home newborn portrait session
Read on for inspiration. I adored this family about 10 seconds after I first met them for their newborn portrait session. Anna and Alon, originally from Stockholm are such beautiful people and I can’t tell you how much I loved hanging out with them for a couple of hours in their gorgeous home overlooking the treetops of Godalming town.
At the time of this session their new arrival of baby cuteness had no name, it’s always exciting chatting about the possibilities and what name we think suits a baby, it takes me back to years ago when I was naming my own children and the days agonising over my first born’s name. Oddly, it seems that it’s harder to choose a boys name than a girls, or am I making that up…?
How a photography session works
When I arrived, their little one had just gone off to sleep so we started with some of the adorable sleepy shots that allow me to capture all the tiny details that can be gone so quickly as babies grow in those first few weeks. This gave Anna time to finish getting ready and have a bite of breakfast, yes, time off from baby is included in my sessions ;-), while Alon, kept their daughter amused. Alon, like most men in my experience, was a little nervous about having his photo taken but I think he did rather well don’t you? I particularly love the black and white one of him and their new baby about six images below here. Then, after a quick feed (the baby), we moved onto some more lifestyle images of the family and even managed to get the two children together for a few minutes, always a tough one with bouncy toddlers but worth the perseverence! Anna was simply glowing and although I know she was feeling tired after a few sleepless nights, she managed to look stunning and relaxed for her photos.
A couple of weeks later after they had had chance to look through their gallery of images, Anna and Alon decided to go for my Signature package to celebrate their family and we spent a really enjoyable hour or so at their home going through their favourite images for the framed wall prints and my favourite, the stunning Heirloom album.
